Most Anticipated Korean Movies of 2016

Most Anticipated Korean Movies of 2016!!! Wohooooo. Do you have any movie on your list that you’re really excited for? Not gonna lie, there are two movies that I’m really looking forward to this year. These two movies had my full attention since… I could remember!

Last year, I was so head over heels for Orange which was released on Dec 12th. The manga is unbelievably  amazing so when I knew it’s getting a live-action I was so thrilled. The movie also did great. It topped Japan’s Box Office in its first week of screening with 261,779 admissions. In just first week! Really can’t wait to watch Orange. Local theater won’t show the movie though -_-

This year, there are two movies that I really want to watch. And they are…….. *drums roll*

First we have Asura aka Don’t Forget Me.

“Detective Han Do-Kyung’s (Jung Woo-Sung) wife has terminal cancer. For his wife, Han Do-Kyung does something he would not otherwise do, but he is caught. Han Do-Kyung tries to arrest Park Sung-Bae (Hwang Jung-Min) while under the pressure of prosecution.” – asianwiki.com

Okay this is like “an already daesang winning” movie. Casting wise, this is spectacular. From the short synopsis I read about the movie, it’s really promising. It has the forever perfect Jung Woo Sung, 3 times Best Actor winner Hwang Jung Min,  Joo Ji Hoon, Kwak Do Won, Jung Man Sik, Kim Won Hae, and many more!

Asura is planned to hit the theaters early this year even though until now the exact date hasn’t been announced yet. No official promotional poster so far, even though it’s slated for early 2016, no trailers too. Once the date is out, make sure to mark your calendar 😉

Second, we have A Violent Prosecutor.

Really excited for this one because the official promotional poster is out already!!! It’ll hit the theater on Feb 2016 even though the exact date hasn’t been announced yet. According to asianwiki.com:

“Byun Jae Wook (Hwang Jung Min) is a short-tempered prosecutor who only pursues the truth. He is famous for his tough investigations. A suspect, under the the interrogation of Byun Jae-Wook, is then found dead. Byun Jae Wook is arrested and gets 15 years in prison.”

I’ll be honest, I don’t think I have watched any work of Kang Dong Won before. I’m kind of brainwashed by k-nets. I didn’t find him attractive at first but thanks to k-nets who always praise him, I’m seeing him like he’s some kind of expensive, rare gem stone. And a very talented, exclusive, super VVIP actor.

Beside Hwang Jung Min and Kang Dong Won, Lee Sung Min, Park Sung Woong, Shin So Yul, and others are ready to grace the screen.

So, these are two movies I’m really excited about! How about yours?
